  5. after he was shot by a sniper while inspecting damage caused in
  6. El Salvador's civil war; in San Salvador. Chief Middle East
  7. correspondent for the Sunday Times from 1981 to 1986 and the
  8. Washington correspondent for the Sunday Telegraph from 1986 to
  9. 1989, Blundy co-wrote the books Qaddafi and the Libyan
  10. Revolution and With Geldof in Africa. He was reporting for the
  11. Sunday Correspondent at the time of his death.
